The Greene County auditor’s office will be open the next two Saturdays to accommodate early voting for the Nov. 8 general election.
The office, located on the second floor of the courthouse, will be open Oct. 26 from 8 am to 5 pm and Nov. 5 from 9 am to 5 pm.
October 26 is the last day that new voters can register and be listed in the registration books at the polls Nov. 8. Same-day voter registration will be available at the polls, but potential voters will be required to show proper identification.
Auditor Jane Huen said her office has received about 1,100 requests for early/absentee ballots, as of Oct. 24. That number is close to the number requested two weeks prior to the 2012 general election.
The auditor’s office is open for regular business hours week days from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
